Here the Athenian fleet was sheltered during the\u00a0Peloponnesian War\u00a0before the battle of Knidos. \u00a0It has other\u00a0significant\u00a0history of warring fleets, one being in the service of Alexander the Great. \u00a0The castle was built on the east hill of the entreance of the Loryma Bay for protection.<\/p>\n<p>There are several restaurants competing for the yacht business by offering laid moorings. \u00a0You can either accept one of their\u00a0moorings or anchor off-shore at 8-10 metres. \u00a0There are small pontoons in front of the restaurants.
