Today,\u00a0Ka\u015f is one of the most appealing towns along the coast with numerous restaurants, good facilities and reputed great nightlife. \u00a0As such, be prepared for a little noise at \u00a0night if moored in the harbour. \u00a0Behind the village are some Lycian rock tombs, many of which are beautifully lit at night.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"flex_column av_one_half flex_column_div av-zero-column-padding avia-builder-el-3 el_after_av_one_half el_before_av_one_half \">\n<section class=\"av_textblock_section\">\n<div class=\"avia_textblock \">\n<p>The only drawback in Ka\u015f is the intense\u00a0gulet traffic in the harbour and the resulting limited space for visiting yachts. \u00a0The harbourmaster is on hand to direct visiting yachts to a berth. \u00a0His job is not an enviable one, since the gulets arrive and depart constantly throughout the day.<\/p>\n<p>Yachts are directed to berths on the SW quay, as others\u00a0are occupied by private and tripper boats on laid moorings. A\u00a0heavy mooring chain lies along the harbour floor and needs to be avoided when anchoring. \u00a0This\u00a0often means being\u00a0almost under the bows of vessels on the opposite quay and using around 35-45 metres of chain. \u00a0Be sure that your anchor is well dug in, since there can be occasional strong\u00a0winds from\u00a0unusual\u00a0northerly wind patterns combining with the evening down flow of air. \u00a0It can send gusts of 25-30 knots across the harbour in the late evening and early morning.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-746 alignright\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Kas\u03271-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"357\" height=\"238\" srcset=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Kas\u03271-1024x683.jpg 1024w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Kas\u03271-300x200.jpg 300w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Kas\u03271-768x512.jpg 768w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Kas\u03271.jpg 1143w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 357px) 100vw, 357px\" \/>Alternatively, newly built <em>Ka\u015f Marina<\/em> in the inlet across the peninsula, offers 470 berths. \u00a0While apart from the liveliness\u00a0of Ka\u015f, there is convenient taxi service for the very short ride to the town centre.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"flex_column av_one_half flex_column_div av-zero-column-padding avia-builder-el-8 el_after_av_one_half avia-builder-el-last column-top-margin\">\n<section class=\"av_textblock_section\">\n<div class=\"avia_textblock \">\n<p><strong>Facilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bustling town with all services and \u00a0amenities for a sailing stop over<\/li>\n<li>Town harbour provides water, electricity and fuel<\/li>\n<li>Harbour mooring is available but very limited<\/li>\n<li><em>Ka\u015f Marina<\/em> across the peninsula (470 berths, modern comprehensive facilities)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"\/blog\/one-week-itineraries\/\">Back to One Week Itineraries<\/a> \u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/blog\/two-week-itineraries\/\">Back to Two Week Itineraries<\/a> \u2026<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ka\u015f\u00a0was the Greek Antiphellus and was populated by Greeks until the 1921 population exchange.
