The town is attractive and a bustling tourist centre. \u00a0To some, it might be overly crowded but others will indeed described it as a party-lover\u2019s paradise and perfect for a memorable holiday.<\/div>\n<\/nav>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/header>\n<div id=\"main\" class=\"all_colors\">\n<div class=\"main_color container_wrap_first container_wrap fullsize\">\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"post-entry post-entry-type-page post-entry-3916\">\n<div class=\"entry-content-wrapper clearfix\">\n<div class=\"flex_column av_one_half flex_column_div first avia-builder-el-0 el_before_av_one_half avia-builder-el-first \">\n<div class=\"avia-image-container av-styling- avia-builder-el-2 el_after_av_image avia-builder-el-last avia-align-center \">\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"flex_column av_one_half flex_column_div av-zero-column-padding avia-builder-el-3 el_after_av_one_half el_before_av_one_half \">\n<section class=\"av_textblock_section\">\n<div class=\"avia_textblock \">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-661\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Marmaris-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"495\" srcset=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Marmaris-1024x768.jpg 1024w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Marmaris-300x225.jpg 300w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Marmaris-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/>Over time, it has been somewhat stripped of its traditional Turkish characteristics as it focused on catering to visitors\u00a0wishing a taste from home. \u00a0The old town retains some of the older qualities and charm even though it sits within a swathe of non-Turkish eateries, bars and souvenir shops. \u00a0During the tourist season the beach is\u00a0very crowded.<\/p>\n<p>All in all, however, Marmaris is an interesting place to visit. \u00a0 With all of its excitement and tourist activity, it largely contrasts the calmer, more idyllic sailing venues along the coast thereby providing a\u00a0broader\u00a0understanding of the rich life along the Turkish coast.<\/p>\n<p>There are two harbour possibilities in Marmaris \u2013 the\u00a0<em>Netsel Marina<\/em>\u00a0with all its modern amenities, and the municipal yacht quay. \u00a0Nearby, is the much quieter <em>Marti Marina<\/em> in Hisar\u00f6n\u0169 Bay and <em>Yacht Marina<\/em> just a few miles east.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"flex_column av_one_half flex_column_div av-zero-column-padding avia-builder-el-7 el_after_av_one_half avia-builder-el-last column-top-margin\">\n<section class=\"av_textblock_section\">\n<div class=\"avia_textblock \">\n<p><strong>Facilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Unending number of restaurants, bars and nightclubs<\/li>\n<li>Accommodations to meet any taste and budget<\/li>\n<li>Retail and souvenir shops<\/li>\n<li>Tourist agencies\/excursions<\/li>\n<li>WIFI in marinas ad most restaurants\/cafes<\/li>\n<li>Banks\/ATMs\/Currency exchange\/Post office<\/li>\n<li>Car\/bike\/qaud rental<\/li>\n<li>Full service marinas<\/li>\n<li>Nearby anchorages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"\/blog\/one-week-itineraries\/\">Back to One Week Itineraries<\/a> \u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/blog\/two-week-itineraries\/\">Back to Two Week Itineraries<\/a> \u2026<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Marmaris\u00a0is a major yachting centre in SE Turkey within a nearly landlocked bay. \u00a0It is very busy at peak holiday periods but a \u201cmust see\u201d for seafaring visitors to Turkey.
